Decade rich Development Communication/Integrated Marketing Communication Specialist with local, regional and international expertise
Shanoy Coombs is a decade rich Communication Consultant and Development Communication Specialist with local, regional and international expertise spanning several industries in the public, private and NGO sectors.
Shanoy is also a former head girl, University Valedictorian nominee, Prime Minister Youth Award for excellence nominee and winner of the prestigious Principal Scholarship for excellence at the University of the West Indies, Mona.
By way of leadership, she has served as Communication Chairperson for the United Nations Communication Group Jamaica cluster where she provided oversight for joint United Nations activities in Jamaica that require communication support as a part of the One UN Strategy. Via this position, she has worked with a group of United Nations Communicators in Jamaica and Barbados, including representatives from: UNICEF, UNEP, UNESCO, UNDP, UNAIDS, WORLD BANK, PAHO/WHO, FAO, UNWOMEN and UNFPA.
She has serviced International Organizations such as the United Nations’ Food and Agriculture Organization for Jamaica, The Bahamas and Belize as well as the European Union and has worked on projects funded by the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB). Her country wide experience has extended to reporting relationships with Barbados, Chile, United States, the United Kingdom and Belgium. Shanoy has also worked with stakeholders in Grenada to spearhead a national communication campaign.
Though she has an affinity for Development/Communication for Development (C4D) projects, she has also worked with several private sector companies in mainstream advertising, telecommunications, Finance, Sports, Technology, Energy, health Insurance, FMCGs and manufacturing. In addition to corporate communications and event management, she has worked on Corporate Social Responsibility and Integrated Marketing Interventions for these entities.
Her professional interests range from Development Communication; Public Speaking and Presentation, Corporate Social Responsibility interventions to Integrated Marketing and social entrepreneurship.
